Stephen Lyon

Stephen Ray Lyon, 51, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home. He was born in Surry County on August 26, 1961 to Harold Ray Lyon of Traphill, NC and Evelyn Royal of Wyoming and was the husband of 33 years to Melinda Baker Lyon of the home. Stephen was a member of The Lamb's Chapel and was employed with Duke Power as a line technician for 28 years. He had a passion for work, loved building and working on his John Deere tractor. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife; sons, Stephen Adam Lyon and wife, Theresa, David Lee Lyon and wife, Megan and Daniel Keith Lyon, all of Burlington; daughter, Hannah Marie Lyon; grandchildren, Colton Ray Lyon and Addison Lynn Lyon; father, Harold Ray Lyon and wife, Sandra of Traphill, NC; mother Evelyn Royal and husband, Jim of Wyoming; maternal grandmother, Juanita Royalbrothers, Thomas Neil Lyon and wife, Kathy of Traphill, NC and Michael Lee Lyon and wife, Karen of Statesville, grandmother, Juanita Royal of Mountain Park; parents-in-law, Odell and Norma Jane Baker of Elkin and all of his loving in-laws. The funeral service will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, December12, 2012 at The Lamb's Chapel by Pastor Brian Biggers, Rev. Gary Byrd and Chaplain Darrel Baker with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
