Steven Neil Freshwater

     Steven Neil Freshwater, age 70, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after several years of failing health and a week long critical illness.

     A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Hubert Alexander Freshwater, Jr. and the late Ruby Lucille Sutton Freshwater.  He was employed for many years as a mechanical engineer and retired from Carolina Power and Light.  He was of the Methodist faith.  Steven was a collector of knowledge, and avid reader and gun collector and also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

     Mr. Freshwater is survived by his two brothers, Michael C. Freshwater and William G. Freshwater and wife, Shari; two nieces, Amity Manuli and Caitlyn Minnix; two great nieces, Eleanor and Ruby; and a great nephew, Alex.

     The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:45 – 10:45 AM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
