Steven Murray

Steven Kirk Murray, 65, passed away on Monday August 10, 2020 at his home.  He was a native of Alamance County and was the son of the late Arthur Vernon Murray, Jr. and Kate Faye Thaxton Murray.  He attended Walter Williams High School.  He was a cabinet maker who enjoyed wood-working, an artist, loved to play guitar and enjoyed music.  He collected knives, hot sauces and cigarette lighters.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his sons, Owen Thomas Murray of Whitsett and Steven Kirk Murray, Jr. of Burlington; sisters, Cynthia “Cindy” Tucker and husband, Otis of Burlington, Linda Hysaw and husband, Gary of Ozark, Alabama, Judy Gaither and husband, Bobby of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Murray may be viewed from 12:00 – 5:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home.
