It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Suits Chuku, 61, who left this world on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at her residence after several years of failing health. Born on October 18, 1963 in Alamance County, Terry touched the lives of many with her caring nature and vibrant spirit. She devoted much of her career to serving as a Medical Tech at various nursing and rehabilitation centers, where her compassion for others shone brightly.
Terry was more than her profession; she was a caregiver at heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those around her. Her dedication to caring for others was matched only by her pride in presenting her best self. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as getting her nails polished and painted, and enjoying the experience of having her hair fixed. It was these small moments that brought her happiness, reflecting her character as a proud woman who valued her appearance. In her leisure time, Terry found joy in spending time with her family, working on puzzles, and coloring.
Her legacy will live on through her loving family, which includes her sons, Kenneth "Chris" Taylor and Bobby Taylor and his wife Crystal. She is also survived by her cherished mother, Edna Moon Phillips and her beloved grandchildren, Sincere Taylor, Autumn Herbin, Trynadee Taylor, London Taylor, and Chloe Taylor. Terry was a cherished sister to Tina Toney and her husband Chris, Tracy Capes and her husband Chris, Barry Phillips and his partner Christy Oakley, along with two half-sisters.
A lifelong friend and caregiver, Bobby "Bob" Taylor, Sr., stood by Terry's side throughout her life, honoring their deep bond. She also shared a special connection with her sister-in-law, Jeraldine Bailey and was adored by several nieces and nephews.
Terry has now reunited with family that have preceded her in death; her father, James Walter Suits, her stepfather, Oscar Lane Phillips, and her maternal grandparents, Elmer Harley Moon and Audra Kimrey Moon.
The celebration of life service will be held at 1:00PM Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Reid Dickens, with the visitation for family and friends to follow the service.
