Burlington Thelma Mae Modlin Bright, 94, formerly of West Old Glencoe Road in Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Homeplace of Burlington. She was born in Alamance County to the late Earnest N. and Mattie Lea Forbis Modlin and was married to the late Thomas W. Bright, Jr. Thelma attended Glencoe Baptist Church where she also attended the Ladies Sunday School Class and she retired form Colfax Furniture. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Thelma centered her life around her family. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Thomas Bright and wife, Karen of Burlington, Danny Lee Bright of Florida and Randy Earnest Bright and wife, Yvonne of Mebane; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; sisters, Ruth M. Whitesell of Graham and Ruby M. Preston of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mable M. Wrenn; brothers, Colonel Modlin, Edward Modlin and an infant brother and sister. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey and Rev. Tommy Bright with interment to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Randy Bright.
