Thomas Farrell

Thomas E. Farrell, 82 of Hickory Ave. passed away on Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Fonda, Iowa, son of the late Raymond and Nellie Hoey Farrell and was married to the late Mary Ann Vonachen Farrell. Tom was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre, an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was the president of Lawrence Industries / United Electric Co. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sharron Farrell of Burlington and David and Frances Farrell of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Matt Farrell, Lauren Tirgrath and Alex Oakes; brother, Donald Farrell of Iowa; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Bill Herke of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a daughter, Annie Farrell. The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Bob Benko, O.F.M. Conv officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening followed by a Catholic Prayer Service at 8:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
