Thomas “Tommy” Ewell Gilmore, 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Duke Raleigh Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and two daughters after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County he was the son of the late Ewell Madison and Rebecca Sarvis Gilmore and was married for over 38 years to Amy Mooneyham Gilmore, who survives.
Tommy was the Vice President at Hunt Electric Supply where he worked for 40 years. He enjoyed trips to the beach, jamming out to rock music, even playing the drums in a band during his youth, but most of all he loved spending time with his family including his rescue dogs; Milo and Kobe. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his playful sense of humor, dependability and loyalty to those he loved, and kind nature to everyone he met.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife; Amy Gilmore, daughters; Meredith Gilmore and Kalli White and her husband Holden, granddaughter Mila White, sister-in-law; Lisa Mooneyham and a brother-in-law; Brian Mooneyham. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, August 5, 2024 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home by Rev. Tim Robinson. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
