Tommie Jo Kincaid

Tommie Jo Kincaid of Burlington, NC passed away June 11, 2026 following a brief illness. She was born May 14, 1953 to the late Thomas Max Kincaid and Virginia Eller Kincaid.

A 1971 graduate of Walter M. Williams High School, Tommie Jo went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University in 1975. She devoted her life to education, teaching for 11 years in Haywood County, NC before relocating to Burlington, where she continued her career with the Alamance-Burlington School System.

Throughout her years as an educator, Tommie Jo had a special passion for working with children. In addition to teaching, she also served the community through her work at Alamance Community College and later as a daycare consultant, touching countless lives with her caring heart and commitment to helping others.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Thomas Brooks (Marisa); her daughter, Megan Silva (Jason); her sisters, Kitty Kincaid (Rhea Coleman) and Tina Pickard (Sam); and her greatest joys, Joshua Payne and Noah Brooks.

There will be a service to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington, NC. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
