Troy Winchester

Troy Wayne Winchester,58, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Decatur, Illinois and was the son of the late Jerry R. Winchester and Barbara Mitchell Winchester who survives.

Troy had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need.  He lived a simple life and enjoyed spending time in nature. Hunting and fishing were two of his favorite ways to pass the time. Troy enjoyed spending time with his friends listening to music, reading and watching his favorite sports teams on tv.

Troy was also a jack of all trades. He was a neighborhood handyman and an amateur musician.  He enjoyed playing a whole range of instruments including the guitar, the drums and the piano.

Troy is survived by his mother, Barbara Winchester, of Burlington, NC; his sister Jeri Ellen Winchester, of Shelbyville, KY, and her husband Donnie McMillan, who was also one of Troy’s long-time friends; his sister Wendi Beale of Watertown, MA, and her husband, L.T., along with nephews, Carson and Caleb Beale.  Troy also had several aunts, uncles and cousins who he was also very close with.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2022 at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 3-5 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local foodbank.  Troy enjoyed taking care of other people and would love to know that his friends and family were helping others in his honor.
