Verdie Mae Crumpton Breashears

Verdie Mae Crumpton Breashears, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Alamance County on June 10, 1939 to the late Hubert Lee Crumpton and Janie Hutchins Crumpton Cobb and was the wife of 55 years to the late James Milton Breashears.

Verdie was a member of Temple Baptist Church.  She loved planting flowers, shopping with friends and family and most of all cherished her relationship with Jesus Christ, her Savior.  She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Since James’ passing, she spoke often of her reunion with him and her Savior.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca “Becky” Bunton, Timothy Breashears (Rosie), Diana Faucette (Richard), Donna McKinney (Dana); eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Saunders and Irene Saul; a brother-in-law, Arnold Keene; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a grandson, T.J. Breashears; and a sister, Alice Sykes.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones and Rev. James Black with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45 – 12:45 Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
