Victor Amos Kelley, 84, of 1919 Hilldale Drive, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009. A native of Durham County, he was the son of the late Wesley and Subrina Chapel Kelley, and was married to Clarice Smith Kelley, who survives. He was a US Army veteran serving during World War II in the European theater. Victor was a member of VFW Post 10607, DAV Post 4, and of the American Legion Post 63. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors other than his wife include his daughter Victoria K. Hedin of Graham; grandchildren: Christopher Hedin, Robert Hedin, Cindy Harp, Jean Harp, and Angela Hedin; step-daughter Nancy C. Long; six step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and nine step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Elmer Kelley. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Pine Hill Cemetery by Reverend Angie Wrenn. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the residence.
