Virginia Plouffe

Virginia M. Plouffe, 92, born January 13, 1923 in N.Y.N.Y. died at home in Elon on January 30, 2015. She was a true New Yorker, who had a zest and enthusiasm for life. Virginia moved to N.C. from Huntington, N.Y. twenty-seven years ago with her late husband Pierre. She had a generous heart, gentle soul, incredible strength and boundless energy. Embracing life in Elon she volunteered at the Alamance hospital, was a friend of the library, a docent at the Alamance County Historical Society and Hospice over the years. She was a member of a circle group at St. Mark's Church and belonged to a local bridge and book club. Virginia was a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by a daughter Joan P. Sharpe and her husband Robert and a son Eric P. Plouffe and his wife, Kathy. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
