Virginia Swaney

Virginia Ruth May Swaney, 79, of McLeansville passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born in Guilford County to the late William Samuel and Mary Frances Carter May and was married to the late Grady Mormon Swaney. She was a homemaker and a member of Brown Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her children, Dianne Swaney Nathan Skinner of McLeansville, Richard N. "Buddy" Swaney and fianc Rene Sharpe of Liberty, Vickie Swaney Bobby Lovelace of Thurmond, Terry Swaney of Greensboro, Steve Swaney of McLeansville and Michael Swaney of Thurmond; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and brothers, Luther May and John May, both of Greensboro. The funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Brown Wesleyan Church by Rev. Larry Pope with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.
