Virginia "Peggie" Brown

Virginia “Peggie” White Brown, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021. Peggie was born on November 20, 1924 in Sophia, NC to the late George Dewey White and Nettie Beatrice White, and was married for 69 years to the late Clarence “C.B.”, “Chubby” Brown.

She attended Elon for a year and went to work in the administrative office at Glen Raven Mills.  Peggie and “C.B.” spent a lot of time at their second home in Jarvisburg, NC.  Peggie was a member of The First Baptist Church of Graham for 55 years; she loved her church and her church family.  She was a wonderful cook and a member of the Garden club where she would often host and entertain. Peggie will be remembered for being a soft spoken, kind hearted and a genuine lady.

Peggie is survived by a sister, Jean May and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Charles White; and her sisters, Shirley Salmon and Patsy Horne.

The family would like to send a “Special Thank You” to the wonderful nurses and CNA’s at Well Spring Retirement Home in Greensboro, for all their loving care and compassion that was shown to Peggie during her illness.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Chris Howe.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church of Graham, 224 N. Main St., Graham, NC 27253.
