Walter Paul Blankenship

Walter Paul Blankenship, 80 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at ARMC surrounded by his family. He was born in Reidsville to the late Aubrey Allen and Mary Arlena Moore Blankenship. He was the husband of 60 years to Gloria Stallings Blankenship.

Walter retired after of 25 years doing maintenance and electrical work for Carolina Chem Strip. He was involved in construction most of his life and was a “Jack of All Trades”. He attended Harvest Baptist Church for many years along with his wife. Walter enjoyed woodworking (building bird houses) fishing and hunting and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Stallings Blankenship of the home; his daughter, Desha Walsh and husband, Mike of Burlington and his son, Paul Allen Blakenship and wife, Sherry of Ruffin; grandchildren, Baley (Travis) Wheeley, Jasey (Matt) Sutton, Cody Allen Blakenship and Cassey Ann Blankenship; great grandchildren, Ivy Rayne Shove, Terra Renae Wheeley, Arianna Sanderlin, Ava Grace Sweger-Blakenship, Ben Boradman and Madalyn Boardman.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00Am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Lamberth. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am prior to the service. A cryptside service will be held at 1:00PM at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleumt in Greensboro. The family will be at the home at other times.
