Wayne Alvin Clapp

Wayne Alvin Clapp, 57, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 after a lengthy battle with Muscular Dystrophy his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Guilford County and was the son of the late Kenneth Alvin Clapp and Martha Bell Carter Clapp. Wayne was married for 29 years to his beloved wife Danette Clapp who survives.

He was a former employee of Engineered Controls. Wayne was an avid car show enthusiast, especially showing the Nissan Truck that he built and customized together with his father, which won over 200 trophies. He also enjoyed deer hunting, going to KISS concerts, and was an avid fan of John Deere, the North Carolina Tarheels and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who truly loved spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Danette; stepsons, Preston Brown (Marcia), Justin Brown, granddaughter, Rachel and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 Tuesday morning prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
