William Westbrook, Jr

William Ed Westbrook, Jr., 84, who resided at the Homeplace of Burlington, died on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County to the late Edwin William Westbrook and the late Elizabeth Boone Westbrook. Mr. Westbrook retired from Kayser-Roth after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church, an avid fisherman, and an U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nellie Catherine Sykes Westbrook; son, Gary Westbrook and his wife Rose of Burlington and their sons, Michael Westbrook and his wife Dawn and their daughters, Danielle and Amanda Westbrook, and Jason Westbrook and his wife Amy; son, David Westbrook and his wife Vicki of Burlington and their sons, Nathan and Noah Westbrook; daughter, Deborah Westbrook of Burlington and her daughter, Brandi Qualls and her husband Baron and their daughter, Jaden Qualls. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and brothers, Robert and Delma "Buddy" Westbrook. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Betsy Combs with burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at his home, 1331 Kilby St., Burlington.
