Elon-Mr. Al Junior Parker, 90, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after months of failing health.  A native of Orange County, he was born on January 18, 1930 to the late William Alvis “Al” Parker, Sr. and Mary Watson Parker and was the husband of 70 years to Zella Chambers Parker of the home.

Al was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea and retired from Carolina Biological Supply.   He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and the Samaritans Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, Zella, survivors include his daughter, Vicki Parker Stafford and husband Tommy of Elon; grandson, Brennan Stafford and wife Jennifer of Hudson, N.H.; sisters, Gertrude Scott and Carrie Rumley; several nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Holli.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles James Parker and sister, Doris McCauley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Harvest Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Pastor Dave Winstead with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 prior to the service at the church and other times at the daughter’s home at 401 Truitt Dr. in Elon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 3741 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
