Bernadine "Bernie" Harrell

Burlington-Bernadine Josephine “Bernie” Blische Harrell, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2019. She was the wife of the late James William “Jim” Harrell who died in 2014. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Adolph and Mary Swenson Blische.

Bernie retired from May Memorial Library. She was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist Church and the BYKOTA Sunday School Class. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and was the church librarian for many years. Survivors include her daughters, Kim Cain and husband, Dale of Snow Camp and Melanie LaMarr of Burlington; grandchildren, Joy Cain and Christopher LaMarr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson, Jack Cain; sisters, Henrietta Erdman and Elsie Scott; brothers, Emil, Herman, Howard, Charles and Joseph Blische.

Bernie’s family would like to thank all the people who cared for their mom over the years.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 11:00am at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. Rodger Roach.
