Whitsett-Clarence Eugene Byrley, 82 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 63 years to Mattie Sue Nunn Byrley who survives.

Clarence was a retired owner of C & M Seven Day Market. He was an active member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and the Joy Fellowship Class. He was a former Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Clarence enjoyed farming, golf and most of all spending time with his family.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Mattie Sue Nunn Byrley of the home; son, Gregory B. Byrley and wife Ellen; daughter, Angela Byrley Greene; grandchildren, David (Danielle) Byrley, Michael (Amy) Byrley, Adam (Lauren) Byrley and Will (Katie) Greene and great grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb, Ella and James; sister Mary McCann and husband, Maynard and a brother David Byrley and wife, Lucille and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Eugene and Kate Frances Jones Byrley; sisters, Rachel May and Marie Vinson.
