Della Boyd

Della Smith Boyd, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Hospice home.  She was born in Alamance County to the late Troy Lee and Louise Overman Smith. She was married to the late Robert Wayne Boyd, Jr.

Della retied as a teacher’s assistant with the Alamance-Burlington school system.  She enjoyed traveling to the beach and listening to beach music. Della especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Della is survived by her daughter, Tracy Rimmer and husband, Kevin of Burlington; sons, Bryan Boyd of Gibsonville and Eric Boyd and wife, Lisa of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren, Sharissa Lewis, Mark (Jessica) Boyd, Austin (Olivia) Boyd, Brendan Rimmer, Jacob Rimmer, Tyler Rimmer and Margaret Boyd; great grandchildren, Alex Lewis and Regan Boyd.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Steve Dailey with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
