Elliott White, Jr.

Burlington – Elliott Sylvester White, Jr., 93 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2020 in Gainesville, Georgia surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Elliottt S. White, Sr. and Swanna Paschal White. He was the husband of the late Frances Bowden White

Elliott retired after 38 years from AT & T. He was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist Church where he taught the Reliable Men’s Sunday School Class for many years. Elliott graduated from Wake Forest University and was an avid “Demon Deacon” fan all his life. He was a veteran of the US Army and member the American Legion. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Doug White and wife, Cathy of Alpharetta, Georgia and David White and wife Suzy of Carnesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Jennifer Overholser, John David White, Casey Jorden, Tyler White and Desiree Winnie; great grandchildren, Joanna, Joy and Jahlyn Overholser; a dear friend and companion for 18 years, Marie Schmidli and her daughter, Laura Ingraham.

A service to celebrate his will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Marc Sanders and Rev Rodger Roach and with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Elliott can be viewed from 1:00-5:00 PM Monday and 8:00-10:45 AM on Tuesday.
