Florence "Polly" Mills

Elon – Florence “Polly” Joyce Mills, 81, moved to her heavenly home, Sunday May 5, 2019 at the Hospice Home.  She was born July 21, 1937 in Rockingham County to the late Reuben Lee and Mary Belle Dodson Joyce and was married to the late Charles James Mills for 27 years.  Polly retired from Integon Insurance Co. as a customer service representative.  She was a founding member of Word of Life Church now CityGate Church.  She enjoyed fellowshipping with friends and reading.  Polly loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Craig) Cathey, Donna (Steve) Woody; sons, Michael (Denise) Mills, Chad (Melissa) Mills; grandchildren, Zack Cathey, Kelsey Cathey, Joshua Mills, Brent Mills, Travis Woody, Nathan Woody; eleven great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Joyce, Wayne (Bobbie) Joyce. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents and a grandson Chris Mills; sisters, Mildred Kenyan, Betty Cates and a brother JB Joyce.

The service to celebrate her life will be 12 Noon, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at CityGate Church by Pastor Rich Fenelle.  Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 10:30 - 11:30 AM prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter Donna Cathey.
