Hilda Madden Averitt

Hilda Madden Averitt, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 50 years to Charles Richard Averitt who survives.

Hilda retired from Burlington Industries and she was a lifetime member of Union Ridge Church where she was mother of the year in 1999.

Survivors include her husband, daughters, Deborah A. Buckner and Janice K. Allison; grandchildren, Lenne Buckner Brown and husband, Robbie and Kyle Buckner; step great grandchildren, Emillie Brown and Grant Brown; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Allison; parents, Andrew Madden, Sr. and Nannie Trollinger Madden; brothers, Ben, Harold and Junior Madden; sisters, Sarah Ingle and Lucille Cooper Denton; son in law, Paul Lennon Buckner.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Union Ridge Church by Pastor Dan Ficklin and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
