Jearlina "Jerri" Arrowood

Jearlina “Jerri” Arrowood, 84, died at her home in Elon on July 28, 2020.  Jerri was the beloved mother of Robert “Bob” Driggers of Acworth, GA, Sonya Sims of Elon, NC, Sabrina “Beanie” Fogleman of Graham, NC, and Rene’ Allman of Deland, FL.  She had one birth sister, Nina Mae Dreiling of Inman, KS, and one sister of her heart, Betty Hardy of Gibsonville, NC.  Jerri had nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was retired after 21 years with AO Smith Electric Motor Company in Mebane.  Jerri proudly served in the Women’s Army Corp.

She loved two things in life other than her family and friends and that was food and talking.  According to her daughter, Sonya, she had bacon for breakfast and was having a really good day talking away just prior to her sudden death.  Those who knew her know she would have wanted it to be sudden.  She would have hated to wither away.  We miss her already, but her strong will is and will be passed down through her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

She was a woman of character and was not opposed to doing a little something wrong as long as she was the one doing it.  She took her youngest, Beanie, to a bar using a fake ID, but wouldn’t let her drink, of course.  She just wanted someone to go dancing with and the two were the best of friends.  That daughter grew up to write her obituary.

She lived with Pam when she and her daughter broke up because Pam was the daughter of her heart and needed her more.  She did what she thought was right even if others didn’t understand.

She wanted her son, Bobby, to know that she was proud of him.  She proudly served in the WAC and the flag from her funeral goes to him.  I know she was proud of that.

She worried about Sonya, but knew she would be ok if she helped out a little cause she needed her mama.  Then Ronnie came along and she didn’t have to worry anymore.  She was so proud of how Sonya grew and she loved Ronnie.  In the end, all that matters is she was loved and loved us in return.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jerry Gardner (will be live stream).  At other times the family will be at Sabrina’s “Beanie” home in Graham.
