Joseph "Jay" Kimbro

Joseph “Jay” Kimbro, 86,  went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at ARMC.  A native of Alamance County and the husband of 42 years to Becky Minor Kimbro who survives.   He was the son of the late Lonnie P. and Elma Fuquay Kimbro.

Jay was a distributor of Little Debbie snack cakes with McKee Baking, now known as McKee Foods, for over 35 years.  He truly loved music, especially Christian gospel music and sang for 17 years with a Christian group called Selah.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Becky, stepsons, Christopher Rice and wife, Christi, Mike Hicks and wife, Anna; stepdaughters, Kristina Wright and Karen Adams; 12 step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; sister-in-law, Glenda Jenkins and husband, Jim; 2 nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Friendship United Methodist Church by Rev. Thurman Horney and Rev. Walter Jones.  Interment will follow with military honors at Pine Hill cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 prior to the service at the church.
