Kathy Hamlett Nicholson, 64, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Duke Medical Center.  She was born October 7, 1954 in Person County to Catherine Clayton Hamlett and the late William Alan Hamlett.  Kathy was passionate about her photography and enjoyed traveling to take pictures of people, places and events.  She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed listening to live music and loved all animals.

She is survived by her mother, Catherine Hamlett; a daughter, Tanya (Nik) Wilson; sons, Josh (Monica) Nicholson, Jeremy (Meagan) Nicholson; fiancé, Phil Catlett; grandchildren, Gavin Nicholson, Sheala Nicholson, Harper Wilson, Nora Nicholson, Charlotte Wilson, Ella Nicholson; sisters, Connie (Scotty) Rice, Laurie (Darrell) Solomon; brother David Hamlett; several nieces and a nephew.  She was preceded in death by her father and a brother Daniel Hamlett.

The service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Orwig.  The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home of her daughter Tanya.
