Kaye Durham-Cesarsky

Whitsett- Kaye Frances Durham-Cesarsky, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her residence after several years of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Harold and Mary Florine Moser Durham. She was married to   Richard. “Rich” Lawrence Cesarsky for 5 years and they were together for eighteen years.

Kaye retired from Progress Energy which later became Duke Energy in Wilmington after 26 years. Kaye enjoyed living at Kure Beach, Florida and the Dominican Republic and spending time in Europe before returning to North Carolina. She was an accomplished artist and maker of stained-glass windows, which are in may private collections.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Rich” L. Cesarsky of the home; daughter, Deborah Wrenn and husband, Bob Witte; sons, David Wrenn and wife, Amy, Kenneth “Kenny” Wrenn and wife, Carolyn; five grandsons; Richard’s children, Kristien, Nanci-Ann and Jill; three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William “Bill” Durham.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Donation Processing center, P O Box 5014, Hagerstown, NC 21741-5014.
