Lea Dameron

Lea Roy Dameron, 93, of Burlington, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January, 28th 2020. Mr. Dameron was born September 9, 1926 in Caswell County, NC, to the late Walter and Lillian Fuqua Dameron. Retired from AT&T (Western Electric). He was a veteran of the United States Army, served during WWII serving in the European Theatre.

Lea is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Woodell Dameron, son Ronald Dameron and wife Cindy of Siler City, NC, daughter Cathy Evans and husband David of Burlington, NC, granddaughters: Jennifer Bridges and husband Tyler of Siler City, NC, Lisa Rambeaut and husband Josh of Liberty, NC, and Alexis Dameron of Siler City, NC. Sisters: Mable McKinney of Elon, NC, Nancy Dameron of Burlington, NC, and brother, Grant Dameron of Winston-Salem, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers: Eugene, Joseph, Maxie, Glen, and sister, Ruby Pierce.

Lea was a beloved family man; his granddaughters were the light of his world. He was especially known for his giving nature, witty humor, and contagious, radiant laugh. He constantly stayed busy, as he was a skilled mechanic who enjoyed working with his hands. Lea cherished working with his son on the farm and spending time in his garden with his granddaughters. His granddaughters could always count on his smiling face front row, cheering them on at every dance recital, science project, sporting event, graduation, and anything else they embarked upon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington with Pastor Jim Mitchell officiating. Graveside will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors by the US Army. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 9:45 - 10:45 AM, prior to the service and other times at the home.
