Marie Grisi

Marie A. Grisi was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Anna Cianadella and Charles Grisi.  Marie was preceded in death by her sister Philomena (Flo) DiMeo.  Marie attended Rutgers University and after 41 years at Colgate Palmolive she retired from her role as an executive secretary in the International Division.  Marie was a supportive sister and devoted aunt.  She had enduring impact on her extended family over three generations.  She enjoyed travel and loved her Italian culture.  Annually traveling to Italy, Marie delighted in speaking of and sharing her experiences of food, adventures, and friends.  At home, Marie spoiled family with her homemade cookies, enjoyed by everyone, and especially as part of tea with her sister and best friend, Flo.  Marie and Flo passed along the tradition of ‘having tea’ to cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Marie enjoyed reading and rarely missed a day of reading the Wall Street Journal.  Standing proud at less than five feet tall, Marie would jokingly say she was so small “you could eat pasta off my head.”  A devout Catholic and active member of the Teresians and Franciscans, Marie often blessed family members when saying farewell, “May the angels watch over you”. She will be missed dearly by family and friends and is now our guardian angel watching over us from heaven with love.

Marie is survived by her niece Pamela D. Cox and Pam’s three daughters Michele, Gail, and Heather; and her nephew Dr. Michael J. DiMeo, his wife Micky, and their four children DJ, Casey, Ali and Erinn.  Marie is also survived by her nine great nieces and nephews, Brady, Will, and Emma Coltrane; Ella, Sophie, and Greyson Loeffelholz; Myles DiMeo; and, Michael Conley and Carter James Wickstrom.
