Mildred Terry

Burlington – Mildred Long Terry, 101, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Home Place of Burlington.  She was born in Person County on January 11, 1920 to the late Henry Long and Tessie Phelps Long and was the wife of 58 years to the late William O. Terry.

Mildred was a charter member of People’s Memorial Christian Church.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sons, James W. Terry, Michael R. Terry; grandchildren, James W. Terry, Jr., Julie T. Craven (Holt). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Henry Long.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Walnut Grove UMC Cemetery in Hurdle Mills, NC by Rev. John Shields.  The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
