Peggy Rhames

Peggy Hart Rhames, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Guilford County on September 20, 1929 to the late Parker German Hart and Mary Magdalene Talley Hart and was the wife of 56 years to Amos Rube Rhames who preceded her in death by fifteen years and one day.

Peggy was a longtime member of Hopedale Christian Church.  She worked in textiles for over 26 years and volunteered for the Hospice Flea Market for over 20 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Sykes; grandson, Ron Jordan (Emily); great grandson, Joshua Jordan (Jordan); great granddaughters, Korie Thornton (Nathan), Madison Jordan; great great grandson, Oliver Jordan and a brother, Curtis Hart.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Nadine Aplin.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Dan Cubino and Rev. Bob Cauthren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Authoracare Collective (Hospice), 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
