Burlington – Peggy Adams Tingen, 87 went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 14,2020. She was born on December 9, 1932 in Alamance County to the late Harry Singleton and Janie Hawkins Adams, and was the wife of the late Bobby Odell Tingen.
Retired from Amtek Lamb Electric. She was a longtime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and the Mildred Overman Sunday School Class. Peggy was a Sunday School teacher at Glen Hope for over 60 years. She sang in the church choir for many years along with her late daughter, Tammy. Peggy was a Christian lady who exemplified a deep walk with her Lord and Savior. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her sisters, Gay Townes of Burlington, Barbara Blaylock and husband, Roy of Graham and Juanita Carter of MacClenny, Florida; sister-in-law, Shirley Adams and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Darlene Tingen, husband, parents and a brother, James Franklin “Buddy’ Adams and a sister, Jane Scott.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Peak Resources for their care and compassionate for Peggy.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Pastor Lewis Baber, Rev. Bob Stephenson and Rev. Jim Wrenn. There will be a private burial held at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday. Public viewing will be from 8:30am until 5pm on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times the family will be at the home of her niece, Wendy Cates.
