Richard Tanner

Richard Daniel Tanner, 90, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Twin Lakes Health Care Center after several months of declining health.  He was born in Akron, OH on March 5, 1931 to the late Lonnie O. Tanner and Fern Coakley Tanner and was the husband to Jeanne Fleming Tanner for 68 years.

Richard was a Navy veteran, worked in the steel industry for many years and was a Presbyterian. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and genealogy research. He loved his wife dearly.

Survivors include his daughter, Terry S. Dockum and Douglas C. Dockum; a son, Thomas P. Tanner and wife, Juneann Tanner; grandchildren, Jason and Brittany Dockum, and great granddaughter, Aurora Skye Dockum.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Fleming Tanner; his parents, Lonnie O. Tanner and Fern Coakley Tanner; and a son, Richard D. Tanner Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
